Here is to a very productive week~Goodness!! By last night, I thought for sure I was going to pass out and not be able to get up again for at least a day or so.
I finally got the house painted, minus the laundry room...I just didn't have the energy or the time to get that done. It is kind of a good thing, cause I want to paint the laundry room Black and white with some Yellow! Not like...Round Valley Elk colors...But like a Bright yellow, with one wall Black with a flower painted on it...I envision this to be so cute, but can't really explain it. I was going to paint the washer n Dryer...But don't think I will do that. I really love the colors black and white...with a splash of yellow! I live in the laundry room! In fact the Adorable One calls it my cave! I am in there in the mornings and at night...Laundry Laundry Laundry! So, I might as well make it comfortable! It isn't very big, but big enough...I used to have the washer n Dryer in the hallway-Eeekk! We have way to much laundry every day to have it out in the open! It is so nice to have an actual room where I can close the door and forget about it for a day(I never do...But at least I have the option)
We are getting new flooring in our house-Right now we have a very light cream colored carpet and light floors in the kitchen. Well if you can imagine...9 children, 1 husband, and 2 dogs living in this home what the floors look like!! I have had to shampoo the floors once a month, some times twice. I don't mind shampooing, but it would be nice to have carpet in here that doesn't show EVERYTHING!
I have been asked if we get to pick the carpet...We don't! And really...I am so thankful and grateful that they are doing this, I don't care!..So long as it is dark in color. Again...I am just thrilled that we will finally have new floors! I also feel anxious at this point, because the house seems so unorganized and messy right now...It will be so amazing to start October off with everything in place...Can't wait for Fall!
We live in small houses here in Bagdad...They did Build brand new homes that are bigger and nicer about 3 years ago. We had an option to move into one- I am so glad we chose not to move into the new housing subdivision! We are pretty happy up here on Little Cloud. We are stuffed in this little 4 bedroom house, but it is bigger than the last 4 bedroom house we were in with 10 of us. When I think about housing...I think...We have a family of 11-We should be allowed a home that has large living area with at least 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The company owns all the houses, and the upper management live in the bigger better homes. Well...so here is what I have to say about that.
They could move us into a different house...A little bit Bigger, better...But really is it? Maybe...Or Not! There is a home that is HUGE that 3 people live in that would really fit us perfectly...Of course that home isn't an option for anyone to move into because it is for the GM. There is one home that is way out of the way...Not one neighbor...perfect for ME who loves to just be at home! It is to small...3 bedrooms. I thought...We could have Justin and Bobcat sleep outside...It will work! O well! So...What I am getting at-We were moved into this house in April 2009. When they quit building the new houses because of the economy and layoffs. They stopped at the house we were suppose to move into-I had all of our stuff in boxes...We were ready to move! I was pregnant with Tator Tot and really wanted to be moved before having him. Well, I had him in December and we were still living out of boxes...We were still hoping that they would get our house done. After letting them know that we really needed to get into a bigger house, they did finally offer this house to us. I fell in love, and was really excited to get into it. After we moved into this house, not to long after, they finished Building the new houses...We got the phone call, and they still offered us the same NEW house...And we said no. Best decision ever.
We don't live in a new house. It is uneven...The walls are pretty thin...It is OLD! But it is perfect and we really do love where we live. We built our running hill out back, we have a perfect sized yard. We have one of the best views in town from our living room window...We live in a great place. I think things worked out the way they did for a reason...I remember praying so hard for us to be put into a better house...And my prayers were answered! And now we are getting new floors. They did our cabinets and kitchen counters last week...And we LOVE how it all turned out. I should have taken a before and after picture... May not be perfect for others, but just right for us!
We appreciate the housing...There are lots of complaints...And that is to bad...we should all just be so grateful for what we have here in Bagdad...
So...Painting is done....And I don't think I will paint again for a long time after I get the laundry room done! PHEW!! It was a very long week with non stop working and running around! The kids only had to fend for themselves a couple of nights for dinner...Thankful that they know how to function without moms help all the time! I couldn't accomplish as much as I do without the kids help!
Bobcat Football game tonight in Williams...I look forward to the drive and cool weather-I also can't wait to watch Bobcat...That kid is a Beast!
Smiling :O)
