Ups and downs...I am ready for a bit of steady smooth sailing...

Oh my goodness!
I had a sweet old lady tell me yesterday, 'Your not alone!'... I simply replied... 'I know!'
It was perfect timing for her to remind me of this...

When its quiet-and Everyone is at school and at work-I can't help but ponder on all the crazy negative things that continue to overwhelm my family! One thing, after another, after another...

I have started to question... I start to run a zillion problem solving ideas, that just aren't realistic, in my mind...I can only do so much!

**Holding onto the positives...Because the negatives are starting to stack up and are becoming heavy...**

Here is a bit of what we have been up to here at the Pacheco house! *Positives and negatives*

We are renting a place that has the potential of being a wonderful home-We add a little bit to it each day...
I am so thankful for my dad and mom who came and helped us put this garden in! Memories are built each year! I love Pallet fences...So imperfect-yet so perfect! I Love IT! (we aren't done-Still putting it together)

Cleaned up the wall and planted some flowers...Loved and showed kindness to the rose bush that was already there and Tada....
You get this-This area will some day have more rose bushes! Right now, we have to start out small!
We have been busy working on the outside...
The Adorable One gets on a tracker and works hard on getting the acreage all cleared out, and we hope that one day to have more green and less dust...It takes time and patience...But the place has come a long way. One day we will have a good fence and gravel for the driveway...Little steps at a time! *We love where we live*

Our son was just called to serve a mission in Omaha Nebraska! That is so very exciting...

For two years, Justin will be serving the Lord and teaching the Gospel. Above all, he will be building his relationship with his heavenly father. What a true blessing it is to be preparing our missionary to serve!

Our Nicci-
She had a homemade ice pack placed on her arm, and didn't have more than her shirt to protect her, so she ended up with Frostbite and an infection. That was a huge eye opener for us as parents...Her as an athlete, and for all those around her who can see the damage that such a cold ice pack can cause.
Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 5-The very black outline is the marker they marked the area with-The dark gray and brown is the frost bite.

Nicci swelled and blistered up like crazy... It has been very painful for her. Nicci hasn't been able to play softball, and won't be able to for a little while, as her arm still is tight. Not a good experience...
*3 days of going to the ER for treatment *Two of those days were 4+ hours*, and another day seeing a wound specialist*
People need to be aware that Rubbing alcohol and water when frozen can really be harmful...Use a towel!

On Sunday night, our water just quit running. Come to find out, that the motor and pump went out on the well that we are sharing with the neighbors. In Bagdad, the electricity would go out all the time... Turn off my lights any day... Going without running water is a challenge-Especially with children!

We were so very fortunate-there is an artisan well running that we were able to go and fill our jugs up with water for the near 3 days that we went without the Clear Running Gold!
*water is more precious than Gold*

They got the well up and running yesterday early afternoon..Yay!

Lots of ups and downs, but here I/we are...Alive and all in all...Doing pretty good...Life will smooth out-Just have to have faith and continue to pray that it all will be God's will-not ours!

I could use a small break from all the bad news...All we want, is to do the right thing in all situations, and have the same respect from others.

I promise you this... I am so grateful for ALL of the positives in my life...

Oh yeah! Have I mentioned that I am now 40...

Embracing life as it is...The best that I can!

Happy Wednesday!

Smiling :O)
